Phase 1: acquire the engine

Here's the front cut in all its glory, shortly after it was dumped in my driveway by a tilt-tray truck.  It appears to have suffered some minor front-end damage which probably resulted in it being cut up for parts and sent to Australia.  Lucky for me, not so lucky for some Japanese guy!  All of the panels are messed up, but nothing important has been damaged.  The airbox and some of the plastic inlet piping has been smashed, but that's nothing to worry about.

The instrument panel remains intact, which is a good thing as the factory electronics won't work without it.  Pretty much everything else has been stripped from the dash, including the stereo and climate control switchgear.  The steering wheel is also missing, which is a shame - I've always wanted to detonate an airbag to see what would happen!  :-)  The Jap-spec Aristo is obviously a gadget-fest on wheels if the switchgear is anything to go by - note the switch for the electric rear curtains!

Check out those brakes!  The rotors are quite large and very thick, and the calipers are big two-piston units.  The whole setup is quite heavy, but think of the braking power!  This looks like an obvious upgrade for the MA61, which definitely needs better brakes if I'm going to double or triple its power output.
